Meditating

DO YOU FEEL LIKE IT'S TIME TO BECOME THE CEO OF YOUR BODY?

That was me in 2019, I realized no one was coming to save me. I am the Healer, Healing is within Me. Our retreat is designed for you to be the healing within your own body.

ARE YOU READY TO GET A DIVORCE?

I know you think I'm crazy but what I'm referring to is divorcing belief systems that no longer serve you. This is something we all need to do.

ARE YOU STARTING TO REALIZE THINGS YOU LEARNED AS A CHILD ARE NOT TRUE?

Sis, I have been there I know how you feel.  I started to realize the foods I was eating/drinking were causing inflammation in my body. And contrary to the commercials I grew up watching as a child, milk Does Not do a body good. Join us as we flip the switch from childhood traditions.

ARE YOU LOOKING TO TAKE A BREAK FROM THE HUSTLE AND BUSTLE AND MEET YOUR TRIBE?

I attended my 1st retreat in Temecula, CA. I realized self-care is non-negotiable. I share this because, like me, you will leave this retreat feeling relaxed, rejuvenated, recharged and rebalanced. I still keep in contact with many of the ladies I met on the retreat.

It is so important to find your Tribe.

ARE YOU READY FOR A CLEANSE?

4 years ago, I felt the same way. In just 4 days and 3 nights you will leave with your mind, body and soul feeling clean, clear and balanced.

The Therapist

Jocelyn Harris was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2012. She was initially in denial not wanting to accept it. She slightly adjusted her eating but continued to “push thru” even when her body was asking for rest. Jocelyn started her transformation in 2018/2019 when she found herself in the hospital twice in a rolling year due to acute exacerbation from multiple sclerosis. As a result, she fell into a deep depression, with the help of her therapist, journaling, studying the healing power of food, juice therapy and becoming mindful of her mental, emotional, physical and spiritual state; she learned about various alternative holistic modalities (meditation, yoga, breathing, visualization techniques, etc.,). Ultimately, she knew being diagnosed assisted her in her soul's purpose, which is to promote Generational Health collectively.

She is a Certified Integrative Holistic Life Coach, Certified in Nutrition, Chronic Disease and Health Promotion, and founder of MSIAMTHECURE, a Nonprofit that assists women with an autoimmune diagnosis.

In 2019, Jocelyn attended her 1st retreat in Temecula, CA.  She came back with an added appreciation for her physical and mental well-being. Wholistic Integrative Healing Retreats was born.  She realized she would create transformative retreats for her community where melanated women can self-reflect and reconnect with themselves in a beautiful and serene environment, all while working on their mental, emotional, physical and spiritual health.

The Herbalist

Shashonah Redmond was born to two vegan parents who reinforced the importance of clean eating daily.  For her clean eating meant no meat, no dairy, no egg products, homemade milk and meat alternatives & the use of alternative medicine (herbs, enemas.)

After her mother passed away, her and her younger sister were adopted by their grandparents and introduced to dairy and meat-based foods/meals.  Before this, she can recall never having really been sick or suffering from things like colds, etc..

During her early college years, she started experiencing sinus and skin issues.

As a freshman, she was diagnosed with a rare skin disease (curable) and then as a junior experienced repeat episodes of sinus infections and put on steroids.

After graduation, she found herself taking Claritin-D daily; so much so that the running joke was she needed stock in the company.  Then she started having issues with eczema.

It was around this time that Hakeim Mosi Bey (fondly known as her late father-in-love) said those magic words "you know we're not supposed to drink cow's milk?"

Soon after, she was introduced to Dr. John R. Christopher, his mucusless diet & herbal formulas.  Around the same time Lilly Colvin (her mother-in-love) gave her a book on Proper Food Combining.

It was through this knowledge of what foods and herbs are good for the body that she was able to rid herself of the need for sinus medicine & often any over the counter drugs.

These resources along with colonics literally changed her life!  She was like a sponge absorbing everything she could about how certain herbs alleviate or eliminate various ailments.

She assumed it was a hobby until she started getting calls from friends and family asking for things to use on issues they were experiencing.

At the age of 40 she decided to return to a more plant- based lifestyle; one in which she rarely consumed dairy and did not eat meat (occasionally fish).

At 41, the damage done to her body became apparent and she was diagnosed with adult-onset asthma triggered by food allergies.

Now, her focus is on using her early childhood training and current knowledge to reverse the damage done to her body.

She is currently training to be an herbalist so that she can help others do the same.

The Yogist

Three years ago, Cynthia Harvey awakened to her healing journey, unaware that it had already started! It took the diagnosis of a life-threatening disease to get her attention. Stressed from working many years in Corporate America, a poor diet, overweight, and very low energy, she could no longer ignore the warning signs; her health was in crisis. She needed a major transformation.

Cynthia retired from her job, relocated to a warmer climate, adopted a slower paced lifestyle, changed her diet, and started taking daily yoga classes. She practiced various types of yoga: hatha, hot yoga, vinyasa flows, yin yoga, and deep stretch.

Her healing journey became real when she underwent surgery and chemotherapy. For several months her mind, body and spirit were at their lowest and weakest points. She began

breathing exercises, meditation, prayer, and yoga to rebuild herself. Daily yoga became such an intricate part of her healing process that she wanted to go deeper. She enrolled in a certified Yoga Teacher Training (YTT), and a few months into the training, she decided to share her journey and teach what she had learned to the people in her community.

For Cynthia, yoga is more than poses and movement. It is the breath, philosophy, wisdom, meditation, and health benefits, that connect the body, mind, and soul.  Yoga is an experience, a discovery of self and opportunities to become aware, to grow and to transform. Yoga can profoundly reshape your body and life if that is your goal. It has for her!

Cynthia’s goal as a teacher, is to share the life changing benefits of practicing yoga. She aims to provide a safe space for students to feel comfortable engaging in a self-care, self-love yoga practice so they can achieve stronger overall good health. Yoga is self-care and self-care is health care; it is not optional!
